Research has shown how important YOU are to your children and how as a dad the things you do, and keep on doing, really count, whether you live with them, or you are a single dad and are only able see them once a month, once a week or more, what you do really matters. This site is dedicated to all dads but will be of special relevance to the single dad. Remember, you are half the reason your children exist and they need you whether you live with them or not. As their dad, you have what it takes to make their lives successful and fulfilling no matter how often you see them. This site is about all the positive things that we as parents have to offer our children.

Why do I have to pay to join dadcando?
dadcando charges a small annual fee (at an introductory price of only £9.95) for you to join, so that we can fund the creation of more exciting content.
Being a member is great. Membership lasts for a year and not only gives you free access to our back catalogue of over 350 fantastic projects, including all the instructions, templates and beautiful printables, but lets you download all our new projects as soon as they come out each week.
And that will be at least another 52 projects, because, at least once a week there is a great new completely original project launched on dadcando designed to fire up your imagination and get you thinking creatively. We think you’ll see that it’s great value.
. . .
However, if you just want just one project or you want to pick and choose then you don’t have to pay £9.95, you can pay a small payment for each project you want to download. Either way you can be sure that your payment is helping us run one of the most original and best loved creative and support sites for dads, mums and kids all over the world, and makes sure that we can keep on creating exciting stuff for you to do.
Don’t just take our word for it...
If you’re still unsure whether or not becoming a member is worth it, have a look round the site and read a few of the messages we get from our members. Here’s a few for starters...
"What a great site!
Thanks. I have spent about half an hour this morning looking over the site. It's great. While there seems to be a lot out there for mom's, there isn't much for dads. My boy will love doing some of these projects."
Micheal, USA
"This is a PHENOMENAL website! I myself am a 23 year old female, and my mother passed away many years ago. Before then, however, she and I used to do many projects together. After she had passed, I did some projects with my dad. I think it's so great that a website like this exists for other families out there to enjoy spending time together. I know I would have liked this website to be available to me when I was younger."
Jennifer, USA
"Wonderful, wonderful site - thank you so much for all the downloads - it's going to be a fun summer!"
Fiona, United Kingdom
And if you’re still not convinced, then why not just read selection of the hundreds of fantastic and supportive comments we get each week here.
Some of the most original creative projects on the web,
all designed with you and the kids in mind. Most require no fancy tools or model making skills and every single project has been made by us and our children and played with, so we know that there is not just hours but weeks and weeks of fun to be had wrapped up in dadcando.
The Dragonry plays host to a selection of exciting projects all tied up in the exciting stories and adventures of Kaptin Scarlet, our very own 19th Century adventurer. Read about his exploits and then make the projects that completely involve you in his story.
Many of the projects have exciting stories and or enthralling texts that will broaden your children’s minds. All the stories are fictional, but they are wrapped up in authentic, well researched facts, designed specially to increase your child’s interest in school topics and the pleasure of learning and reading. Projects range in skill level and time taken from a few minutes to an afternoon of fun and reward.
Our three main criteria for any new dadcando project are:
- Doable
- Creative
- Desirable
To meet these criteria we spend a great deal of time and effort making sure the that our projects are fun, rich in images and supporting stories or background information and completely original. Often we follow cues from current films and books, which means that your dadcando membership will repay itself many times over, as you save on all those high priced merchandised goods that you know your kids love, because they will be able to live out those fantasy stories by making stuff of their very own, giving them the skills and interest in doing creative activities with you or on their own, for themselves. We pay attention to detail, and always make certain that it’s detail of the highest quality, because we know that children really enjoy the interesting details and want the highest quality. For only £9.95 you can get access to all this, all our past projects and belong to dadcando for a year, now that is a bargain!
What do I get if you buy a single project?
Once you have completed the payment process you will return to the dadcando.com project you wanted to buy, but now you will be logged in as a Guest so can download all the files from that project.
Your access to the purchased project only remains live until you either close your browser or you leave the website unattended for 10 minutes. Once you have purchased and downloaded a project, we regret that we cannot refund your payment. However, if you download a project and experience trouble saving it, then if you contact us we will be pleased to help you if you need further access.
Our lovely instructions are beautifully designed and really easy to follow to give you the best results.

The things you say...

Thank you for all the fantastic messages you send in. It seems that dadcando has something for everyone. Here are a small selection of the lovely messages that you have sent us over the last year.
I would just like to say how informative and wonderfully helpful your site has been to me. It is an emotional roller coaster at times as a single "part time" dad and your site really helps me with your advice and quotes. Thank you so much for making the effort, it is truly appreciated, Paul London, UK
I just found your site and have been looking it over and reading the About Section. I have never seen a site with such solid, affirmative goals and ideals - nor have I ever seen one that is succeeding so well in accomplishing its goals. Kudos to you, from this happily married creative American mother of four, Janna Hayden, USA
Thanks for the site! I am a single father of a nine year old boy. It amazes me how there is such a lack of resources available for men like us. Good luck and again thank you, Peter Calgary, Canada
I recently have had the pleasure of looking through your website. Although not a single dad, my parents divorced when I was 7 and I could associate with all of the topics you have covered very well. I'm a married woman now, yet a few times when reading through your material I had to blink back tears. All single dads need to know this stuff. I'm sure it would have saved our family a lot of heart ache. Can I just encourage you for the amazing work you have done thus far and say that I honestly believe the countless hours you have spent on this (no doubt) are certainly not in vain, Jodi Australia
I tried your instructions for the Magical Lumos Wand and I must say it was absolutely cool and great! I am extremely happy with the wand I made. It looks sooo real! I used a glue gun to mould the entire wand but I used a normal switch instead of making one. I love it! Lageshrie Pietermaritzburg, South Africa
Hi, I just happened by your site and wanted to say how fantastic it is and what an inspirational and supportive place it is. I'm fortunate to be a happily married mother of two grown up sons - so this site is full of stuff I did with my kids (and it would have been a great resource for me too when they were young!). Many Dad's (whether single or not) don't often get chance to do stuff other than sport with their kids - so this site will give them some inspiration and confidence to branch out. Keep up the great work! Angie UK
Hi there, I’ve got to say I’m not a dad, but my parents split up when I was a lot younger. I just thought I would send a message. I think this site is great and I extend my thanks to people who are dedicated to a worthy cause such as this. I’m sure it makes a big difference to fathers out there who need to make the most of the precious time they get to spend with their children. Keep up the good work, and may this site continue to help the countless number of fathers out there who love their children more than anything else in the world. Simon Falmouth, UK
