Research has shown how important YOU are to your children and how as a dad the things you do, and keep on doing, really count, whether you live with them, or you are a single dad and are only able see them once a month, once a week or more, what you do really matters. This site is dedicated to all dads but will be of special relevance to the single dad. Remember, you are half the reason your children exist and they need you whether you live with them or not. As their dad, you have what it takes to make their lives successful and fulfilling no matter how often you see them. This site is about all the positive things that we as parents have to offer our children.

Paint a T-Shirt

Perfect T Shirt painting made easy
Painting a T shirt is so easy, it's a perfect way to spend the afternoon and, what's more, you have something great to wear at the end of it. Either you can paint the T-shirt for your children or they can do it themselves (which is more fun). Either way they’ll love wearing the end result. The best part is that you can buy plain white T shirts incredibly cheaply, so painting on them is no more expensive than painting on a big piece of paper. You can’t beat personalising your own clothes, and it’s much more fun, so much cheaper and about 1000 times more personal than buying a slogan or branded T-shirt. . . .
Wondering what you should paint? You can get ideas from anywhere, off the web, from the TV or from your kids’ latest favourite film release. Fabric paint is not expensive and if you only buy a few colours you can mix a bit of acrylic paint with them to get the exact colour you want. . . .
The key with any designing or making project is to have a good idea of what you want to do before you actually start making. Getting an idea worked out beforehand isn’t some magic gift that some people have and some people don’t. Firstly, it’s a trick anyone can learn, and secondly whoever is doing the designing, however experienced they are, they have to work at it a bit. All you have to do is start with something you like. Simplify it in your mind, or on paper, so that you are not making your job too difficult; remember simpler is better. More often the best images that look really good on a T-shirt are the simple, striking images. If you feel moved to include text or a slogan in your design, then type it up on the computer first and increase the font size so that it is as big as you can get it then printing it out and incorporate it into your drawn design. You’ll be able to trace round the words to get a really professional finish. This project comes with a blank template of some little T shirts so that you can start sketching out your ideas right away. Don’t necessarily jump at the first idea you have, develop it, refine it and make it better. Any extra effort you put in at the beginning getting the design right will pay off in the finished article.
Younger children might not have the patience to see the whole project through. Get them to design the T shirt on the little T shirt blanks and then enlarge the image and paint most of it on to the shirt yourself, leaving a small bit for them to finish off. . . .
Hand painted T shirts make a wonderful and very inexpensive gift, so if you’re wondering what to give someone for a birthday present, why not paint them a T shirt. Follow our instructions for the best results, just click on the paper format you have, to download it.

Themed origami shirts
 |
|
So you want to be a tailor and make some of the most beautifully pressed shirts in Town? Well, this is the Japanese art of paper folding (origami) with a new twist.

Dadcando shirt making paper craft couldn't be simpler, you don’t need to buy any special paper, and you can download our high quality printables, and get going with this project right away. The easy to follow instructions show you how to fold up a shirt from a rectangular piece of office printer paper.

Fold up the shirts and then use them as very original greetings cards, that are guaranteed to make a great impression, and show someone that you really care.
There are loads of neat designs on this site, but if you fold up a plain piece of paper you can design your own shirt. If you do design your own, please send us a picture or scan of your design so that we can see how good you are, we’ll put the best up on dadcando for everyone to enjoy. Learn the folds, and then next time you’re really bored at work or school, you can always make a paper shirt from that fax from Accounts, or that Post-it Note from your teacher.
